Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate an average with coefficients?
Multiply each grade by its coefficient, add the results, then divide by the sum of the coefficients. Example: 14 (weight 3) and 10 (weight 1) give (14×3 + 10×1) / (3+1) = 13/20. The calculator does this automatically.
How is the overall average calculated?
The overall average is the weighted mean of all your subjects: each grade is multiplied by its coefficient, then the total is divided by the sum of the coefficients.
What are the honor levels and their thresholds?
Honor levels depend on the average out of 20: Pass from 10/20, Fairly Good from 12/20, Good from 14/20, and Very Good from 16/20.
Can I calculate an average without coefficients?
Yes. Turn off the coefficients option (or leave them all at 1): the tool then computes a simple arithmetic average.
Does the tool work for middle school, high school and university?
Yes. It supports /20 and /100 scales, with or without coefficients, which fits middle school, high school and higher education.
